Tatari evolution guide: T1–T3 Priority Rankings

The Tatari evolution guide begins with one principle: evolution is a progression system, not a single tier list. Tataris need duplicate copies to raise their star progress, and eligible forms also require specific trials. Some trials depend on activities or events, so the strongest theoretical upgrade may not be the best immediate target.

Tataris support Battles, Boss Challenges, story stages, and selected events. Their elemental attacks interact with counter types: a favorable matchup deals 200% damage, while an unfavorable matchup deals 50%. This makes a balanced roster more valuable than rushing one favorite Tatari through every stage.

The practical progression order is:

1. Create a functional story roster.
2. Use additional T1 copies to unlock the next Dojo milestone.
3. Push important T2 Tatari into T3 when their trials are available.
4. Consider T4 or other late-stage upgrades only after the core roster is established.

T1–T2 evolution is usually the easiest place to improve a new roster. The best early choices are not always the units with the highest eventual ceiling. Instead, look for Tatari whose T2 form immediately adds a useful effect or fills a missing role.

Ashlarva is a strong example because its early evolution adds an attack boost alongside healing and damage. Gunbok becomes more useful when it gains Fragile, helping trigger interactions against several boss targets. Seal also improves substantially when its bouncing attack applies Weak, reducing enemy damage and improving survival.

Use the following categories when deciding which T1 Tatari to evolve.

A 15-Tatari story roster should normally come before broad investment in specialized units. Elemental coverage helps maintain consistent damage, while a mix of DPS, Guardians, Healers, and control effects makes the team less vulnerable to a single difficult stage.

T2–T3 is where evolution choices become more sensitive to trial availability. The same Tatari can move from a top priority to a temporary hold when its required event or activity is not active. Review the trial condition before committing resources.

Monkey and Butterfly are the clearest high-impact targets in the available guidance. Monkey expands into three-lane damage, while Butterfly spreads Sleep to adjacent Tatari targets. These upgrades change how the units function rather than simply increasing their numbers.

Other strong T3 priorities include Puppy, Ashlarva, Mantis, Mushroom, Deer, Tideon, and Seal. Their improvements include area Weak, wider healing and buff coverage, lane control, Fragile, damage reduction, piercing damage, multi-lane effects, and additional bouncing attacks.

Evolution requires more than duplicate copies. Tataris must reach the required star amount for their evolution path, then complete the relevant trial. The exact requirement varies by species and stage, so track each Tatari separately instead of assuming every evolution uses the same threshold.

Food raises stat grades and can be required by certain trials. Each Tatari can be fed a limited number of times per day, with food associated with Boss Challenge rewards and other acquisition routes. Blue-rarity Tataris also have a lower feeding ceiling than rare purple Tataris.

Glitter forms are an optional visual variant created through Glitter Fruit. They do not replace the need to complete normal evolution planning. Since Glitter Fruit has a low transformation chance and blue Tataris cannot use it, it should be treated as a collection goal rather than an early progression requirement.

A useful resource policy is to separate your roster into three groups:

• Immediate upgrades: Units that solve a current story, Dojo, or survival problem.
• Prepared investments: Units with a valuable T3 form whose trial is not yet available.
• Natural growth: Units that are useful only in a narrow mode or do not currently justify premium resources.

The Tatari system also has an effective star ceiling for upgrade purposes. Additional copies may still count toward the collection or duplicate total after the upgrade cap, but they do not necessarily unlock further stat progression. Check current in-game visuals and trial requirements before farming duplicates solely for a higher displayed star count.

A strong evolution plan stays flexible. New Tataris, new events, and changing trial availability can shift which upgrade is most efficient. The safest approach is to maintain a usable core team while preparing several candidates for the next breakpoint.

The best long-term roster is rarely made from one universal lineup. A Tatari that excels in Dojo may be less important in story stages, while a dependable healer or debuffer can remain useful across many activities. Plan around the content you play most often, then use natural evolution for lower-priority specialists.
